This blog shows the folkart I make, my reproduction furniture and other projects. My studio/shop is in my backyard. It's a couple of miles off the main road in West Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada. When you come to visit make sure you see – the "Olde Times" Garden House Museum; Grandma's Attic; the Furniture Box; Grampa's Loft (antiques, old doors, etc. in my Dad’s old barn loft); and my World's Largest Egg Beater, certified by Guinness World Records.

Moose Gun

I've made "goose guns" in the past and thought it's time to make a "moose gun".
This moose gun is made from an old antique musket and antique deer antlers (purchased at Auction sale) - I carved up the deer antlers to suite the moose.
     This item is for sale.

Shadow Box: The Hunt Up River

I'm happy the way this shadow box turned out!  I call it, "The hunt up river".    Its measures 32"w  by 21" by 3" deep.
The dogs tongue is a nail i flatened.
I used dinner forks for the moose antlers.  Also the hunter's arm is a fork covered with body fill.
The crane is roosting on a real rock .
The tail of the beaver is off  a end of a spoon.

Bill's Cat Catching

This is my latest piece of folk art which i call, "Bill's cat catching".
I started with an old steel paddle car which dates back from the 1950's.  The car is 51" long  28" x high 18 x wide.
Bill's body is made from a old sap bucket.  The rim of his hat is off a pot lid.  His mustache is made of two coat hooks . His goatee is a drawer-pull one end of it.
The horns on the hood are made from a dowel and two coat hooks.
Bill, the dog and cat bodies are all made of carved from cedar wood.
The dogs tongue is the end of a spoon.  The cats tails are the ends of spoons.

Stepback Cupboards

I picked up these three dressers a couple of weeks ago and made them in to stepbacks.  I got the drawers sliding good on each cabinet.
These cabinets would be good in a kitchen, dining room, or in the bathroom for towels.
