Two years ago my Perfect Couple was on the cover of the Buzz.
"HANDS ON: ALIENS IN THE ATTIC. Wacky, fun, iconoclastic--these are the hallmarks of a folk artist, and P.E.I. Native Kerras Jeffery has them in spades". NATIONAL POST Jan/2011
This blog changed from a daily blog to a blog to celebrate the folk art of Kerras Jeffery, as well as his reproduction furniture and other projects. His studio & shop closed in 2017 following his passing.

Bronco Ride
This bronco rider came together great. I had the two sets of pliers handles left over from another folkart piece from last month and thought they'd make great horse legs. The horse's tail and mane are made from standard dinner forks. The hat brim is a beer bottle cap.

Monkey made from teapot
I make a lot of different folk art pieces from teapots over the years. Here's silver-plated teapots with wood carved made into monkeys.
I used three forks - two for the arms and one for the banana.

Bull Dog
I'm really happy the way my bull dogs turned out.
The body is a sap bucket, the head is carved from wood, the ears are an old set of hinges for the ears, and the tail is part of an antique deer antlers (found at an antique shop).
The legs are made from two different set of fireplace stands.

Roosters of many styles
Just finished making these thirteen roosters.
I used different things for the tails - one has a paint brushes; another has moose antlers; another tuna hooks; another a caribou antler; and a hoe cultivator - they're 14" high.
I also put one on a tall stand which is 36" high.

Bowling Ball Chicken
I had these 20-pound bowling balls kicking around for a year. I came up with the idea
to turn them in to hens. This would make a great door stop!
The beaks are a set of pliers; the top cone is a piece of a old meat grinder.
I'm now working on some roosters and will have them posted next week.

Dutch Ducks
I picked up these dutch wooden shoes a couple day ago. Thought they
would make a great pair of mallard ducks - male and female.
Below: Looking at the wear on the bottom, up the shoe, they were well worn.
